First published in 1975, the renowned “yellow booklet” by Sergio Chiarloni is considered a landmark in the study of civil procedural law. The work incisively explores the deep connections between procedural institutions and socio-economic interests, showing how legislative choices are never neutral but shaped by the structure of society and the needs of dominant classes. Nearly fifty years after its first appearance, the volume remains strikingly relevant and continues to serve as an essential reference for legal scholarship and new generations of civil procedure scholars. This reprint, published by the Department of Law of Roma Tre University within the series La Memoria del Diritto, provides open access to one of the foundational texts of twentieth-century Italian legal culture.
